Clinical Interest: Benign hematology; Thrombosis; Myelodysplastic syndrome; Myeloproliferative neoplasms
Research: Dr. Afzal focuses on research in the fields of thrombosis, hemostasis, and myeloid malignancies. She studies outcomes of patients afflicted with these disorders using administrative data. She has a particular interest in translating knowledge obtained from outcomes studies to design clinical trials.
