My principal role is to participate and design novel translational research clinical trials focusing on patients with Hematologic Malignancies and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms within our combined Leukemia and BMT program in the Division of Oncology at Washington University. Apart from the multiple trials active at the Siteman Cancer Center I have served as P.I. and co-P.I. on Phase I and Phase II AML, MDS, Lymphoma, GVHD, BMT Stem Cell Mobilization Treatment and Supportive Care Clinical trials. Over the past four years I have initiated clinical trials in CML, and in collaboration with my colleague in Hematology Dr. Stephen Oh have established a focus group at Washington University applying targeted novel therapies for Myelofibrosis. I am developing novel epigenetic therapy with targeted therapy to debulk MDS/MPN patients and focus of minimizing graft failure after allogeneic stem cell transplantation in MF. I am also participating in the study of high dose therapy of chemoresponsive patients with Sarcomas in collaboration with Dr. Brian VanTine. I am involved in patient care and teaching of residents and fellows rotating in Oncology in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
