Research Interest: Platelet biology, thrombosis, hypoxia, platelet metabolism and mitochondrial function, GPVI signaling, von Willebrand factor, redox signaling, ischemic stroke, Intravital microscopy and vascular biology.
Research: Platelet dysfunction contributes to arterial thrombosis, thromboinflammation, and cardiovascular disease. The overall objective of our work is to understand the molecular and metabolic mechanisms that regulate platelet function and thrombus formation. Our research encompasses redox signaling, thiol isomerases, vascular biology, and ischemic stroke. The long-term objective of our work is to identify novel mechanisms and therapeutic targets for the prevention and treatment of thrombotic cardiovascular diseases.
